We manage the technology that runs your business
Sidekick Digital is a Canadian service provider. We improve the processes behind small and medium-sized service businesses and municipalities, connect the software they already use, and manage the automations on top of it.
What kind of company is this?
Consultants come in, study the problem and hand over a strategy document, then leave you to implement it. Software vendors sell you a product and hand over a login, then point at the documentation when it does not fit how you work.
Sidekick Digital does the implementing and then stays responsible for it. That is closer to how a managed IT provider works, except our subject is the processes and the connections between your systems rather than the laptops and the network.
We set client relationships up to be ongoing. Businesses change, vendors change their software, staff come and go, and a system that fit perfectly two years ago usually does not fit now.
Process before technology
We look at how the work flows before we look at what software is involved. Removing an unnecessary step beats automating it, and it is cheaper to maintain.
Start small
One process or one policy first. It is enough for both sides to find out whether this is working before anyone commits to a larger programme.
Humans stay in control
Systems we build show their work. Your team can see what ran, check it and step in, and the judgement calls stay with the people who should be making them.
Measure whether it worked
We agree on a measure up front, hours saved, errors avoided, response times, and we check it afterwards. If a change did not move the number, we say so.
Keep what works
We start from the assumption that you are keeping your current software. Your team knows it and the data is already there, so most of the value comes from connecting it properly.
Plain language
If we cannot explain what a system does in a sentence, it is probably too complicated to hand over to your team, and we would rather rebuild it than leave you dependent on us.
Why local matters here
Sidekick Digital is Canadian owned and built in Alberta. We work in your time zone, we can come and sit in your office, and we understand what running a small municipality or an independent practice in this province actually involves.
That matters for the practical reasons, being reachable when something breaks on a Tuesday afternoon, and for the regulatory ones. FOIP, Canadian privacy expectations and where data is allowed to be stored all shape what we recommend.
It also means we are betting on the same communities you are, which is a reasonable incentive to do the work properly.
Who do you work with?
Law firms, accounting practices, trades, clinics, consultancies and municipal offices make up most of the work. What they have in common is a pile of software that grew one purchase at a time, and nobody whose actual job is to look after it.
Organizations large enough to employ a full internal systems team are usually better served by that team. We are built for the ones in between, too big to run on spreadsheets and goodwill, too small to hire for this.
